My Birthday Top Ten

(*Note: This post is a bit self-indulgent. Please overlook this as I am trying to document my life.)

I turned 28 years young last Thursday (February 22). Here are the top ten reasons why I had a great birthday:

10. I received lots of cards in the mail. Hurray for good mail!

9. My very generous parents bought me these running shoes that I picked out.

8. I received 3 great necklaces. Two of them were from my in-laws, and this darling cupcake necklace was from my sister Roxy and my mom. They also sent me a cupcake stand. What a creative, themed gift!

(This was the best picture I could get. Sorry it's blurry.)

7. Brandon spoiled me rotten. He took me to Barnes and Noble and let me buy whatever I wanted. Nothing makes me more giddy than picking out children's books to add to my (already huge) collection. I got these:

Brandon also let me refill my bottle of this:

Angel is my favorite perfume that I have been wearing for years. The cool thing about it is that you can take your empty bottle back to Macy's (or any department store perfume counter) and they will refill your bottle! Yes, it's true! It costs about $20 less than buying a brand new bottle.

And he bought me this:

HOORAY! I've wanted a fondue pot forever. Who's up for a fondue party?

6. I got to go to Red Robin and drink a Freckled Lemonade....my favorite! (Oh, and eat too!)

5. This hot guy came with me.

4. We finally got a great picture of Addyson smiling. She entertained us the whole time we were eating at Red Robin.

3.Ashley had these nice things to say about me. Thanks, Ash!

2. I bought some of these, ate the whole bag, and didn't feel guilty about it. (I wait all year for Easter for these to come out!)

And the number ONE reason I had a great birthday is (DRUMROLL PLEASE)...

Brandon made me this adorable, homemade card with the sweetest words inside. The fact that my masculine, gun loving, animal killing, Jeep driving man actually took the time to put glitter inside of the balloons he drew just melts my heart.

Isn't it funny how the simple things are always the best?

Nikole, I'm glad you had a good birthday. I LOVE the card from Brandon. ("How did an ordinary girl like you come into HIS pleasure?") Thank you for the picture of the cutest baby in the world smiling so big? She obviously enjoyed your birthday, too!

I agree with your mom, Brandon's card and the pic of Addy are the best! She is SO adorable! I love your description of Brandon-- "animal-killing" etc. I have been waiting to hear about your bday. So glad it was great!!!

I LOVE fondues, we had fondue parties in TX a lot. They are so fun and yummy (if they are chocolate related!) I have 2 fondues, lets get together and fondue-it- up!!

Also, LOVE Red Robin, it's my favorite place plus they give free hamburgers on your birthday. Can't beat that!!

That picture of Addy is adorable!!

Those "mini eggs" are the absolute best Easter candy ever made!

And last but not least, I too LOVE children's books. I need to look into the ones you bought. I think I read more kids books than adult. Actually I know I do. I love it!!

Happy Birthday you old lady!! :)

On there are so many wonderful things about this post! 1) Barnes and Noble...I finally had to get a membership because I bought so many books! 2) I love the homemade card, so sweet and 3) I think I ate a whole bag of those eggs this week and it isn't my birthday :) Happy Birthday!!! P.S. The pic of Addy is adorable!

Oh gosh, where do I start? Ok, first of all, a very belated Happy Birthday to you. It is obvious that you had a really great day. I love getting "good" mail such as cards and I am glad to see you do too. Next, I am addicted to Angel perfume and Jason is so sick of me wearing the same kind for the past 3 years but I just can't move on, I love it and the fact that it's refillable is just wonderful. Also, I think we have the same carseat. Is yours a Graco in Bermuda?
