Breathing a Sigh of Relief...Easter 2009

My neighborhood has a big Easter Festival every year at our neighborhood park. This year, I was in charge of planning, organizing and pulling off the whole event. I have been worrying and stressing about this for months, but finally, it is over and I can relax.

Me and the Easter Bunny (aka an 11 year old boy I bribed with 20 bucks)

Our event included...

Bounce houses:

Several Egg Hunts:

Addyson wondering what the grass on her hand is all about.

She loved putting eggs into her basket.

Prize bags (200 of them!):

Crafts and Games:

We also had face painting and refreshments. The best part of this event was the fact that about 250 people attended and all of the kids had a great time. The worst part was the fact that I had to yell into a bullhorn to announce the egg hunts. (Embarassing!) Luckily, it didn't rain on us and I had several willing helpers who helped lighten my load.

My mom was also here visiting this weekend. We dyed eggs and had another little egg hunt just for Addyson in the front yard.

We tried to get a family picture (Addyson and I both had new dresses) but guess who wouldn't cooperate?

We had a delicious Easter dinner of ham, cheese potatoes, fresh baked bread, green beans and strawberry shortcake. The weather was gorgeous and we spent most of the day hanging out in the backyard!

Grandma and Addyson got lots of quality time together.

The total cost of the Easter event (courtesy of the HOA): $800.

The price of Addyson's new Easter dress: $8 on clearance. Hooray!

The fact that the Easter Festival is over: priceless.

Holy smokes, you are a GOOD PERSON to do that thing. Well done! I was actually wondering if you were doing it again. I would have loved to see you on the bullhorn. Addy looks so cute in her dress, and so does your mom as always. You should show us a more complete pic of your new dress!

I am impressed you had the energy to pull off another Easter egg hunt for Addyson following that beast of an Easter festival! You did an amazing job...you are meant for that type of stuff :)

Hey! I helped with the hunt... a little. I threw the eggs out on the lawn. I picked up the roped off area. But seriously, that was a huge undertaking and it turned out perfectly. I'll bet you are feeling so GOOD! Call me if you need someone to wipe the grass off Addy's hand... I'll be right up.

Way to go! We can hardly get our HOA to trim our bushes! Looks like fun.

I remember this activity from last year! I think that is so cool that your HOA does this. And you are an even better person for being in charge! You are just like your mother. Speaking of which, so great to see Tami on here, I miss your mom and dad and the rest of your family so much. I love the $8 Easter Dress for Addy. That just makes the dress that much more adorable! You look like you guys had a great Easter!

My guess is YOU were the one who wouldn't cooperate for family pictures. I miss our neighborhood, it looks like a blast, good job! I thought of Brandon the other day when we went to RC Willey to shop for furniture. :) ... I also thought of that big brown chair that is still in our old house because it was purchased by the people who now occupy our place. We finally closed on Friday by the way. Hooray!!
